Lustre began as a collaborative effort between 2 friends in 2011 and in the last 3 years it has grown into a successful business. In 2014, Anaita Thakkar one of the co-founders, took over the helm of the business.
Thakkar, originally from Bombay, moved to Singapore from Hong Kong, where she noticed a distinct lack of affordable semi precious jewellery. Yes, Singapore had serious jewellery that came with an equally serious price tag, it offered plenty of pricey resin and plastic pieces…but there was nothing offering real, semi-precious stones around the average price of S$100 a piece (that’s £50 or USD$80).
After careful research and sourcing trips, Lustre was born.
